eFolder BDR Vendor acquires Replibit -

In a major new incursion into Replibit LLC crowded market for backup and disaster recovery, data protection vendor eFolder Inc. has acquired software maker BDR based in Orlando, Florida. the price tag and other terms of the agreement are not disclosed.

Until today, five BDR solutions basic-Ga. Atlanta, eFolder all combined its own cloud storage infrastructure with software from leading third-party providers, including Replibit. Now officially called eFolder Replibit system will be the first offering in the BDR family eFolder products he owns and operates entirely on himself.

The solution Replibit, neutral material system with bare metal restore capabilities, local and remote virtualization, and support for a variety of both private and public cloud storage environments, made his debut in 2014. eFolder published Replibit edition of its BDR platform in May of last year.

Ted Hulsy "the product obtained rave reviews of our distribution partners," said Ted Hulsy (photo), vice president of sales eFolder. The purchase of the supplier responsible for product aligned with the long term vision of eFolder, he added.

"We are really position the company as a company Software-as-a-service where we own the intellectual property of the end of cloud point of software," he said. "Replibit part of this strategy overall quite good. "Joining forces was equally attractive to Replibit he continues.

" They were looking for a way to take their product to another level with a larger organization, and it just became a good combination, "said Hulsy.

John Motazedi, CEO eFolder partner based Joplin Mo., SNC Squared, feels the same way." for us, Replibit and eFolder are a perfect combination, "at -he said in a press release. "We fell in love with the Replibit software early, since the characteristics of reliability and automation help us reduce our costs of labor."

Sweetening the deal for eFolder is the treasure of patents that CEO Replibit Andy Bensinger, a veteran BDR who played a key role in the design and development of backup software once sold by defunct Zenith Infotech provider of managed services, brings with him .

"This is an important part of the value that we will acquire," Hulsy said, adding that these patents are primarily a "defense system" offering protection against intellectual property lawsuits. Bensinger has agreed to remain with eFolder and will be "deeply involved in product innovation," according Hulsy, in a new role that has not yet been determined.

Despite the announcement of today, MSP's empowerment to choose from a range of options BDR remains an essential element of the eFolder strategy Hulsy stresses and offering a complete solution on its own does not change the commitment of the company to its other four partners of the alliance BDR Acronis International GmbH Dell AppAssure StorageCraft Technology Corp. and Veeam Software .

"These relations are strategic, and we believe it is an excellent strategy to offer a choice to the MSP," says Hulsy. "Naturally, Replibit take a kind of primary position in our product portfolio."

Replibit MSP partners will experience nothing but positive changes also after today Halsy states, including more support and closer account management.

"We received a lot of feedback from partners that they wanted Replibit as part of a larger organization," he said. "That, I think, a dimension to the case."

Hulsy would not rule out future acquisitions in pursuing the aspirations of eFolder offering MSPs a suite of business continuity solutions based on cloud-owned.

"It is really to help ensure and protect business productivity for their customers, "he said." Everything is sort of this regime would be fair game. " Just do not expect more news like today is in the near future.

"Right now our plate is pretty full," said Hulsy.
