Nasuni receives US patent for its core technology -
Nasuni, enterprise storage vendor based in Natick, Mass., Has received a US patent covering the basic technology company: the ability to create a versioned file system storage infrastructure based on objects of public cloud storage providers.
The new approach combines the performance and consistency of a traditional file system with the scale and stability of objects of storage systems used by all major public cloud providers. He enjoys being able to rely on what is essentially an infinite instantaneous flow that eliminates the need for backup systems and separate filing, the company said.
When deployed at scale, object storage systems are profitable, stable and highly available, but they are also relatively slow and offer no coherent model for data changes . The vast majority of business data is stored in the file systems where performance and consistency are paramount, so storing crude cloud is not a good fit for primary storage.
Nasuni basic technology, UniFS, bridges the gap by taking snapshots local party to create a direct mapping between a high performance file system and a series of immutable (WORM) file system versions are then engaged in the object store. This technology ensures that the Nasuni file system can grow indefinitely without the limitations of physical gaming capacity by the traditional hardware-based file systems.
