EMC Data Domain Updates and SourceOne -
storage, security, virtualization and cloud computing innovator EMC ² announced updates to its Data Domain deduplication storage systems and software SourceOne archive. The company says that the updates are changing "data protection play" offering enhanced backup and archive performance and efficiency as well as an extensive ecosystem of partners and reducing cost and complexity.
"It is the most important job for an IT department data protection of its society," said Peter Smails, senior director product marketing for EMC, backup recovery systems. "But he faces the Herculean task of ensuring that data is both recoverable and accessible for as long as necessary, while dealing with limited resources and budgets dishes."
To meet these challenges, Smails said, EMC is committed to its backup and archiving solutions.

- Faster Ingest Performance -Qquick and efficient archiving and accelerated archival storage migration from archiving platforms of the inheritance to Data Domain systems.
