Facebook IPO: Security, Privacy, always a problem for the social network -
Tomorrow is the day that everyone has been waiting for, the day Facebook goes public. But with all the honors and excitement, Facebook's IPO also brought some control over the way the company manages the privacy and security of its users. In a recent poll by AP and CNBC, 59% of Facebook users said they have little or no faith in Facebook to keep their personal information. Only 13% of respondents said they had complete faith in Facebook. So there are obviously trust issues between Facebook and its users.
As Facebook's popularity continues to rise, so does the hacking attempts on the social network. Hackers can now use a wide range of scams using Facebook pages of people against them, including hacking of their accounts to obtain personal information, taking into their account to hack accounts, cloning or their friends create a fake Facebook page with the account of the user, and piracy for unprotected information that the holes in the privacy settings of Facebook leave vulnerable.

And as the popularity of Facebook and functionality increases, so does new hacking and spamming attempts on the social network.

2) Always be careful what you click when using Facebook. If you click a link that requires an application to access your account, make sure that the application is safe before granting access.
