STORServer Virtual Appliance for Backup - alternative model
provider of data backup solutions STORServer deployed its Virtual Appliance (VA) earlier this month. Downloadable virtual machine is designed to use VMware Consolidated Backup, giving SMEs the possibility to use existing infrastructure with STORServer software.
Whereas traditional line of STORServer Backup Appliances requires hardware, the new VA is a downloadable VMDK file. The idea, says STORServer in a press release submitted to Channelpro-SMB is to provide resellers and end-users an alternative to the traditional model of the device.
Built on IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, STORServer offers a full range of backup appliances, software and services designed to meet the challenges of backup, archiving and recovery of disaster aujourd 'hui. Each VA uses the same company or the TSM database software and other devices, provides disk-to-disk-to-DR (disk, tape, cloud, or device) and configurations future growth charts.
