Veeam Backup Simplifies Offsite with its latest version -
backup, replication, and virtualization provider Veeam Software management solutions, has announced that the latest iteration of its backup & Replication adds integrated WAN acceleration and backup snapshots of storage.
Backup & Replication Version 7 includes over 50 new features and improvements, according to a press release Veeam subject to Channelpro-SMB . Among these improvements are the Veeam Explorer for SharePoint Integration vCloud Director, Self-Service Recovery virtual machines and customer files and Tape Native support.

integrated WAN acceleration
Developed by Veeam and optimized specifically for Veeam backup files, integrated WAN Acceleration feature enables the automatic transfer of backups to offsite locations up to 50 times faster using a regular file copy.
This process eliminates the need to buy and deploy a WAN device for general use in acceleration or acquire additional network bandwidth for backups off site.
VMware backup snapshots of storage
in addition to the function integrated WAN Acceleration, backup & Replication v7 adds VMware backup snapshots of storage. This was developed in partnership with HP and HP uses StoreVirtual VSA, HP StoreVirtual (LeftHand, P4000), or HP StoreServ (3PAR). It is designed to improve RPO while reducing the stress on the virtual infrastructure.
