The FBI warns computer users that they need to disinfect and remove malware DNS Changer from their computer or they can lose their Internet connection July 9, 2012. the malicious DNS Changer trojan is believed to have affected millions of computers worldwide in 2007, and can affect both Mac and PC.

The malware itself is a threat because the FBI seized the servers that cybercriminals used to redirect all web browsing through these servers so they can collect personal information. The problem is that servers cost a lot to maintain, so the FBI needs to close. So if your computer is still infected, it will redirect your web browsing across servers, which means that it will be unable to access Web browsing if the servers are closed.
