Veeam Software, which provides backup, replication and virtualization management solutions for VMware vSphere and Windows Server Hyper -V, made its Veeam backup cloud Edition immediately available.
Veeam Backup Cloud Edition transforms each leading public cloud storage in a data repository for backups, offering an alternative to traditional tape backup and offsite storage. The solution is cloud-agnostic and supports 15 public cloud storage, including Windows Azure, Amazon S3, Amazon Glacier, Rackspace and HP Cloud (as well as support for additional cloud built on OpenStack).
The main advantages of understanding solution:
- copy local backups to the cloud happens automatically on a scheduled basis
- backups to the cloud are compressed, deduplicated, and protected by AES 256-bit encryption. .
- reports emailed keep informed about backups copied to the cloud.
- Configure the cost estimates by clouds and define the limits of GB or dollar.
- bandwidth for real-time control and planning boundaries to ensure availability during work hours.
There is no need to learn cloud storage APIs that cloud credentials can be selected simply entered cloud Edition. The solution did not interrupt or affect the operations of local backup or restore.
The solution is provided using an annual subscription model so there is no capital expenditure and no equipment is needed. Users only pay for cloud storage used.
