The backup software and disaster recovery solutions provider , StorageCraft Technology Corporation, released a new plug-in for virtual environments. The new tool, which is free to users StorageCraft ShadowProtect backup and recovery software disaster, is available in two versions: StorageCraft Plug-in for VMware and StorageCraft Plug-in for Microsoft System Center.

The StorageCraft Plug-in for virtual environments is the latest component of the Recover-Ability Solution StorageCraft. The plugin includes features that allow users to monitor and manage ShadowProtect backups directly from VMware vCenter or Virtual Machine Manager in Microsoft System Center, as well as the ability to view all virtual machines (VMs) in running on a hypervisor host and detect which virtual machines are not protected by ShadowProtect agent automatically. StorageCraft Features Plug-in for Virtualization enable users :.

  • monitor the state of virtual machine backups
  • See all virtual machines running on a hypervisor host and automatically detect virtual machines are not protected by ShadowProtect agent.
  • transition vCenter or Microsoft System Center for ShadowControl Web console with one click.
  • push-install ShadowProtect agent to all virtual machines unprotected quickly as well as apply a working pre-configured backup so protection can begin immediately.

The StorageCraft plug-in requires that it be used in conjunction with ShadowControl v2.5.1, which is also available for ShadowProtect users.
