Veeam Backup v7 allows backups SAN Snapshots -
Developer Veeam Software, backup solutions provider, replication and virtualization management for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, will now allow instant backup SAN that supports HP StoreVirtual VSA, HP StoreVirtual (LeftHand, P4000 series) or HP StoreServ (3PAR) storage. This new functionality is included in Veeam Backup v7.

Veeam Backup v7 is designed to make the process easy to use, more robust, and faster.
Developed by and exclusive to Veeam, storage backup snapshots minimizes the impact on virtual machines (VMs) by allowing a backup job to keep a VM snapshot for only a brief moment. Veeam uses VMware's changed block tracking (CBT) to reduce the backup time for incremental backups. This allows SMEs to take as many backups and replicas as often as desired.
"With the backup and replication using snapshots of storage, it is no longer limited by traditional backup off-hours," says Veeam CEO Ratmir Timashev. "Instead, IT can save three or four times per hour if they wish, to ensure that in the event that some or all of the production environment goes down, little, if any, data will be lost. "
backup storage snapshots will be included in Veeam backup & Replication v7, to be released in Q3 2013.
