Unitrends introduced a pair of free tools that offer complete visibility into storage and file capacity and utilization. Backup Capacity and Inventory Tools Storage Unitrends are designed to help system administrators determine the amount of storage to be allocated for backups, and files that are essential to safeguard. These new tools offer a unique full point in time storage and preview files across entire data centers, enabling administrators to calculate backup sizing needs in progress, and avoid backing up unnecessary files or run out of storage space.
The capacity Unitrends backup tool allows system administrators to capture a complete snapshot of all data center files on storage devices and servers, and view file-level information that can be used to plan, build and schedule backups.
