What are the top 5 most infected sites? -
Want to know which websites you should be most wary when surfing the web? Fortunately for us, Symantec, the makers of Norton Internet security software, has released a report that followed malicious code on websites to see which ones have been infected most. Of all the websites they followed, the first 5 types of sites are:
- Blogs and Web communications sites
- Hosting / Hosted Personal
- Business / Economics
- shopping
- Education and reference
the report also indicates that a whopping 61% of malicious sites are sites actually regular that have been compromised and infected by malicious code. Hackers use what Symantec calls "drive-by" attacks that use regular sites to host malware hidden. All you need is a user clicking on a corrupted link or even just visit the site to be infected. the most common use of "clickjacking" that occurs when a user clicks on a malicious link or video and hackers use that click to view the video or link to all the friends of that user.
