GFI MAX Adds Backup Bare Metal Recovery Tool -
Backup GFI MAX expanded its 13.6.1 version adding Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) functionality to its hybrid online -Cloud based Backup and disaster recovery solution. BMR adds P2P recovery features in GFI MAX backup and complete the existing P2V recovery feature available with the Disaster Recovery Virtual Enterprise (VDR) set of features introduced in Q4 2013.
BMR, much like the VDR functionality, Windows file system drivers daily user and system state backups to provide protection in case of failure of a complete system. The BMR tool automates the creation of bootable USB recovery media, eliminating the need to manually install an OS application or backup before starting the recovery. Users would insert the USB recovery media in the repaired or system "as" replacement and start. They are then asked for their backup device identification information and presented with a list of recovery options. BMR restores data directly from the backup GFI MAX Cloud and is fully compatible with the LocalSpeedVault feature, which allows users to keep a copy of secure local backup that can be used for fast restores.
GFI MAX backup is available for a free 30 day trial.
