Following a notice that the Symantec Online Backup Exec appliance is abandoned, cloud backup and disaster recovery provider, Zetta.net, unveiled a migration program for backup Exec customers of Symantec appliances which devices are affected.

The program can backup Exec Appliance customers to sign up for the cloud backup service and DR Zetta.net and receive up to 6 free months and up to 20 percent on cost an annual contract. Previously, the company offered a promotion of migration to the Symantec Backup Exec Cloud customers after stopping announced by that service.

Zetta.net provides customers a SaaS cloud backup and DR solutions with built-in WAN acceleration, designed to move large Internet data sets. The company says its customers have achieved transfer speeds up to 5 TB in 24 hours. In addition, the service does not require any device or other new material, which allows users to easily deploy and manage their backups, and avoid potentially costly recovery delay to wait for a replacement unit after a disaster.

The Zetta. Net support service recently added to the streaming server image backups directly to the cloud. All client data is encrypted in flight and at rest in SSAE16 certified Tier 4 data centers, and the service is fully compliant with HIPAA and ITAR.
