Lighting: 9 for ideas Brighten Your Kitchen Island - Having a kitchen island has always been on my wish list, but the question of how light it brings its own set of problems and considerations. It's tempting to go down the easier route of the three hanging drops, as it is a classic design that looks fantastic, but it only works if you have the right island for this arrangement. Sometimes the space simply does not lend itself to a trio of lights and you'll need to find a trick to adapt this arrangement to work in your room. Other times, though, the best cuisine of the application as you push the limits of design, somewhere in space, and lighting your island could provide an excellent opportunity to be bold.
Here are some striking ideas I like, as well as some great examples of how to give the classic trio of suspension a bit of a boost from the design or to integrate it into a space tricksy with an overview of how the ideas could work on your own kitchen island.

There is no secret that the accessories look great in three, and the lighting of the island is no exception. I think this dramatic trio of black shades against Tom Dixon, clean white backdrop is the perfect example of just why this rule works. Odd numbers are generally much more aesthetic. While you might get a symmetry with a pair of anything, there is a certain harmony with a trio in interior design and visual interest.

This decorative light does not seem the ideal source of task lighting for kitchen busy, but what it lacks in practice it is certainly for wow factor. It is fabulous. This is a great example of not complying with pendant light temptations and it really echoes the straight lines of the kitchen.

Wow, this is absolutely exquisite. There was really no other means of lighting such a magnificent marble island - only a chandelier would make this area of justice.
Chandeliers are a great way to get light on your island, as the exposed bulbs will give you all the light you need. I always recommend you put them on a dimmer switch, though, so you can do things a little sentimental when the mood takes you.

I am a fan of the lighting off scale, but I really like this statement elegant to say! Less is definitely more here and you are really allowing the kitchen to do all the talking, because you see almost right in front of blown glass light fixtures.
Going small can be an excellent choice, but remember the practical side and make sure that any adjustment you choose gives you the amount of light you need. Consider adding spots or ceiling work, too, if necessary.
