Storage Appliance brings deduplication and compression for Microsoft DPM

-

BridgeSTOR has expanded its range of Application Optimized Storage (AOS) devices with the introduction of its latest device for the Microsoft System Center Data protection Manager (DPM), enabling customers to SMEs using DPM to reduce capacity requirements by up to 90 percent.

Manager environments The BridgeSTOR AOS Appliances for Microsoft DPM provides Microsoft System Center Data Protection with an effective capacity of storage platform. Virtual Storage - Advanced Data Reduction (VS-ADR) in the device BridgeStor AOS DPM is configured for Microsoft DPM environments. The VS-ADR technology combines BridgeSTOR online data compression at the ASIC-assisted blocks and deduplication with Disk-on-Demand thin provisioning for scalable storage.

BridgeSTOR AOS Appliances for Microsoft Data Protection Manager treat SMEs and storage of the branch must by coupling data deduplication and compression with simplified administration, deployment and affordability. A 3.5 TB (physical capacity) system "starter" seems DPM 35 TB of virtual capacity, expandable to 10.5 TB of physical storage and 105 TB of virtual capacity.

System Center Data Protection Manager, pre-installed and pre-configured in the device, ensuring data protection for Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and Hyper-V environments, and workstations companies and laptops. BridgeSTOR AOS appliances supply the block-level interface required for DPM Storage Pools while providing transparently deduplication hardware acceleration and data compression to minimize capacity requirements of the storage pool. Data sent to DPM by servers, workstations and laptops is compressed and deduplicated both within and between protection groups.

With the use of deduplication and data compression in hardware acceleration, BridgeSTOR AOS Appliance for Microsoft DPM provides advanced data reduction without impacting the user experience or changes to infrastructure. BridgeSTOR AOS Appliances also use Disk-on-Demand thin provisioning, enabling storage managers to allocate DPM storage pool sizes ranging without physically installing storage hardware until needed.
