LogicNow Mac invests in management leadership with the acquisition of Mac-MSP -
In order to position itself as the market leader in IT services support management for Apple Inc.'s Mac platform 'software services provider managed LogicNow Ltd., Dundee, Scotland, announced today the acquisition of MSP-Mac LLC, a manufacturer of Mac management solutions based on cloud headquartered in Lawrence, Kansas. Terms of the deal, which has already closed, were not revealed.
The Mac-MSP software is based on originally developed products for internal use by BestMacs, a provider of Mac-focused solutions and MSP founded in 1999 by Brian Best, who heads both companies. Integrating Mac-MSP software with the family of service products managed LogicNow will eventually equip MSPs to monitor, manage, secure and save Mac endpoints just as easily as they do Windows PCs, according Stephen Garland, senior vice president of engineering LogicNow.
"our basic objective through [20] 16 is to provide our same level of service as we do with our current platform for Mac users," he said.
The first step of this quest will be the addition of the MAX RemoteManagement solution LogicNow new features for more robust access and remote control of Mac customers. This capability is available now as part of a MAX RemoteManagement release candidate expected to ship on February 1st
"We had a strong adoption from that of the trial period, without problems reported back, which is very encouraging. "Garland said, adding that LogicNow turns to add Mac patch management and antivirus functionality MAXfocus RMM solution the company later this year.
decision LogicNow to make Mac supports a priority stems from its September 2015 the active deployment of Discovery, a function MAX RemoteManagement that dynamically and automatically detects workstations, servers, printers, routers and other devices connected to a customer network. a hosted solution, multi-tenant, Active Directory gives LogicNow access to anonymous aggregated statistics endpoint of its more than 15,000 customers in over 100 countries.
"This has given us a strong evidence that the adoption Mac is much greater than we actually expected," said Garland. Search LogicNow to add support for other client platforms as well as Google Chromebooks, if Active Discovery reveals similar climbing use.
"We can see quickly enough trends and the adoption of new trends," notes Garland.
