- DNS / DHCP support for Windows: Simplifies managing clients by removing the requirement IP address for backups.
- Second-level menu, task-oriented: Includes drop task-based-down options on the main menu of the interface for greater ease of use.
Unified Data Protection offers Unitrends supports more than 100 different versions of servers, operating systems, platforms, storage, hypervisors and applications. With Unitrends 7.2, enterprises now also receive expanded data protection support for Oracle 11g on Linux and Solaris, Debian 7.0 and Ubuntu 13.04 Linux and VMware resource pools. Administrators also now have the ability to exclude a subset of VMware virtual machine disks from backups, which reduces the backup size, saves storage space, and increases retention.
Unitrends 7.2 also includes new features focused on the MSP. The new generation of software includes integration with the tool of professional service automation ConnectWise, as well as systems monitoring and remote management. With this new support, MSPs can monitor and manage the infrastructure of end users, including backup and recovery process, directly through their PSA or RMM system. This integration greatly reduces TCO and time error prone manual process of replacing automated system monitoring tasks that can be managed through a single interface.
