Kitchen of the week: A Space Sunny with clean lines and warm wood - At best, a kitchen is an open space, clean, light can operate simultaneously as a quiet refuge in the morning before a busy day and as a friendly place to meet friends and family. Designer John McNeil kept these ideals in mind when he created this brand new kitchen for a professional couple with young children. "We really like to work closely with our customers, and this project they put in much effort, too, he said. The end result is a spacious kitchen animated with great warmth and natural light.

When John clients bought this 1930 property in 2013, they realized the house was too small for their needs and decided to create a modern kitchen in a new light extension. However, pitched roof extension, which was a basic part of the extension to maintain the aesthetics of the building, created a bit of a challenge. "For the lighting in this space was actually pretty difficult, John said.
He chose to add two skylights instead of a lantern, and made the team with ceiling lights mounted on a pivot so they can be directed to highlight the Work plans. "Skylight Select gave us the opportunity to have the spotlight, too, that we could not be included if we installed a large lantern," he explains.
The two long windows at the end were another addition not originally included in the plans of the architect, but were included by John in order to increase natural light. "If all gear was brick, the kitchen area was really dark, he said. "Instead, it invites you to look in the garden.
