Kitchen of the week: a country-style kitchen light created on a budget - When Liz and Gary Morgan sought to update their kitchen, they had two strokes of luck. The first was to find the design company Hill Farm Furniture and the second was discovered that one of the ex-display kitchens Enterprise was the ideal solution for their new extension.

"It is a little darker than the wall units," noted Joanna, but both shades blend in beautifully. The kitchen has been equipped by Chris Ashwin's son Mike, who is also the resident project photographer who took these beautiful images.

Joanna and Mike decided to add a curved bar on the end of the island to create a functional dining area, but it has been carefully considered. "We did not want to add just a little more wood," says Joanna, "so we moved to a slightly lower than that of the island worktop height.

The soft gray, wooden worktops and open shelving create a spacious, welcoming atmosphere in the bright and modern space. The owners had already installed the door of the wooden barn with a heart shaped window and it works perfectly with the lovely feeling of rustic cooking.
