Veeam launches direct restoration to Microsoft Azure -
Veeam Software has introduced Direct Restore for Microsoft Azure, available for preview as free, pre-configured device in Azure Microsoft Azure Marketplace offers cloud catering for Veeam backup & Replication and Veeam backup Endpoint. The new solution allows users to make on-site workloads and restore or migrate to the cloud using a physical to virtual or virtual to virtual conversion process.
"The flexible cost, scalable and automated effective nature of the hybrid cloud is increasingly compelling for administrators, and Azure continues to seize the penetration of strong and dynamic market," explained Ratmir Timashev, CEO of Veeam Software. "Direct Restore extends current investments in Veeam Availability solutions for our users and allows them to fully utilize the power of the cloud. Veeam provides IT administrators the flexibility and scalability of Microsoft Azure and the availability and expertise in data management. "
Direct Restore Azure allows users to quickly recover virtual machines running Windows, the physical terminal servers or to Azure to minimize disruption. The new feature also allows users to perform the migration workloads provided from on-site to the cloud to reduce on-site resource constraints.

"By combining Veeam and Microsoft Azure, IT can now use Veeam to migrate or restore data on site at our cloud and leverage the flexibility, reliability, and robustness of Azure."
the new solution is designed for customers to restore backups created by Veeam Veeam backup & Replication, Veeam backup Free Endpoint and Veeam backup Free Edition for Azure (IaaS). the company also plans to integrate Direct restore to Microsoft Azure in future versions of Veeam Backup & Replication.
