Justin Moore is CEO and co-founder of Axcient Inc., a protection company data in Mountain View, Calif., which offers backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions for SMEs. He spoke with Channelpro-SMB editor Michael Siggins how Axcient plans to invest its last round of funding risk

Channelpro-SMB :. Axcient recently raised $ 15.5 million in a new funding round. Tell me about your plans for investment

Moore :. This is an industry that is still dominated by legacy technology, and Axcient is at the forefront of this approach disrupt legacy to protect SMEs and ensure they stay up and running, no matter what happens.

So we had a lot of interest outside of the company. We are in a significant growth of over 30 percent quarter over quarter. We grow our channel, our customers. Our cloud is growing exponentially. We want to continue to accelerate our growth, and this capital will allow us to do a couple things. The first is that it will allow us to continue developing our platform. It will also allow us to expand our operations and support teams, so we can better support the channel. We want to enable the success of the chain on both fronts. One is the marketing and sales activation, and two is the support side to ensure they are fully supported at all times, so they can better serve their SME clients.

Then, of course, we have our eyes on expanding internationally, so that this funding will enable us to accelerate this so-map really good things for channels and really good things for SMEs, and of course, good for the company. The timing is right. The assessment is fair. We are very excited about the towers.

Channelpro-SMB: What distinguishes Axcient outside such a crowded market?

Moore There is a crowded space, but you must remember this is a space that is dominated by the legacy backup solutions ... that the majority of cases is always coupled with tape. When it is not coupled with tape, it is coupled with the storage network connection, and installation is part of the problem, which is the problem of data backup.

We say, look, it is not enough to protect data; it is about the protection of applications. It is about protecting servers. It is to protect all devices on a network. We ensure an SME remains in place and running, they remain productive and are able to serve their clients. So that is basically a very different approach we have taken to solve their problem.

At the same time, for an SMB to reproduce something close to what Axcient fact, we should work with three or four different suppliers to concoct a solution. Axcient simplifies this complexity. Instead of three or four suppliers you work with. Channelpro-SMB: There has been a lot of growth in partners to come on board. Tell me what you hear from them.

Moore It goes back to a few things. It is, nobody does that Axcient does. The partners say, "We do not want to work with multiple vendors. We do not want to work with [a cobbled together] solution, where a dealer slapped an interface in front of three or four different technologies. We want to work with a solution that was built from the ground up for SMEs. "Axcient is 100 percent focused on the smallest on the market of midsize businesses.

Then, of course, we were very focused on the success of our partners. We are only as successful are our partners. So we do everything in our power to enable their successful sales, marketing, support perspective.

We have five values ​​to society. the first is integrity and right after that is developed and first customer partnership. the partners see that. They believe. They hear that other partners. Channelpro-SMB: What is the future?

Moore We are growing exponentially on all fronts. Our partner base is increasing at 25 percent per quarter. Our revenues are growing. This quarter, for example, Q2 to Q3, we have increased about 35 percent of monthly recurring revenues. We add as much data in our cloud in 12 days we did in the whole of last year.

We actively recruit [and] training new partners, enabling them to be successful, and build a solid base of recurring revenue for their business. Now it is very easy for VARs and MSP. We are not asking for infrastructure investment. We ask them not to invest in some complex billing systems back-end. We handle all their complexity. All they have to do is to provide their customers with the best solution for data continuity and data availability in the market, and provide the first level of support. The rest is managed by Axcient.

You'll see some improvements in the exciting platform for us in the coming months. We worked in the discretion of some extensions of the revolutionary platform, which we believe will even provide the next level of total availability of data and application availability for small to midsize businesses.

I think we can prevent SMEs lose data. We can ensure that they remain productive and stay up and running, and this is important to us because, Axcient, we believe that small and medium-sized businesses are the future of the US economy .
