Kitchen of the week: A Slick, modern design in a beautiful period of space - When Richard and Barbara Anderson offers in the rectory of the 17th century with a Victorian extension to Oxford, they gave designer Marcus Watkins kitchen curb free to reconfigure the space below.
'The kitchen was originally in the old part of the house, which had low ceilings and was heavily beamed, "recalls Marcus. "We decided that the best solution would be to move it to the more recent Victorian. The space has been used for a number of years, but it was beautifully landscaped with gorgeous features, such as decorative windows and original stone fireplace.
The former kitchen space was duly converted into a comfortable fit, while Richard worked his magic to transform this piece architecturally rich contemporary kitchen that works in harmony with its historic surroundings.
