Last offers data protection platform Sepaton 'Data Encryption at Rest' -
based in Massachusetts Marlboro, backup solutions provider and recovery Sepaton Inc. has made available its S2100-ES3 series 2925 backup appliance with version 7.0 software.
The Data Protection Platform has new processing nodes and improved multi-network connectivity options (8GB Fibre Channel, Ethernet 1GB and 10GB Ethernet) to nearly double the performance ingesting data at up to 80 TB / hour compared to previous models.
high performance compression cards Improvement are designed to provide both compression and encryption of data at rest in a unified pipeline without slowing performance.
Many SMEs are looking at more affordable approaches to reduplication, with more manageable scalable architectures / data protection and intelligent synergies between software and hardware. With this product release, Sepaton aims to meet these needs.
"This product is specially designed to meet the challenges faced by SMB data centers and government today," said Sepaton CEO Mike Thompson. "This includes the explosive data growth, budget constraints, costly complexity of data centers and the growing risk."
The new product Sepaton is designed to provide the performance needed to meet stringent backup windows with flexibility to adapt to changes in IT infrastructure and security encryption for data at rest.
Encryption of data at rest
Many SMEs and government agencies have deployed a separate encryption for different types or data sources. For some this creates an environment increasingly complex and costly management of multi-vendor key. Sepaton seeks to simplify this arrangement with its new "encryption of data at rest" capability that integrates standard interoperability protocols of the industry for the encryption key management (EKM) to simplify management of encryption keys and reduce operational costs.
The new product integrates with Sepaton EKMS that conform to the standard organization of the industry for the promotion of Structured Information Management Interoperability Protocol Standards (OASIS) key (KMIP), which enables SMEs and government agencies to take advantage of the interoperability between the encryption key management systems.
