Kitchen of the week: The color and creativity combine in a Cottage Rural - Rarely a bright yellow stove is the starting point for kitchen design, but Jo, an artist, and his partner, Dave, was determined to include in their Somerset cottage. The kitchen went from Jo choice of the range and ideas for storage, much of which now contains his art and craft materials, said Sam Shaw sustainable kitchens, who designed the 'space. Additional color added with painted blue cabinets and Sam brought Jo sketches for a single cabinet drawers and cupboards to life using a mixture of interesting wood.
Completed in August 2014, the kitchen is now with both single functional and personal flair. And despite sitting in a 19th century cottage, it is about as far from a typical local cuisine as it is possible to imagine. "It's colorful, playful and so much fun, Sam said.

The stone walls of this cottage kitchen contribute lots of character space, against which a mixture of painted cabinets, range and super-bright solid oak worktops stand out handsomely. All cabinets have facades and oak frames, with birch interior.
'The cabinets are sprayed first in our workshop to get a good base color, then we install and finish painting them by hand, "Sam said." The great thing about using oak is that you can still see the grain through painting.

To make use of vertical space, Sam created the pan-door on the beach of metal rods with oak supports, " rather as a clothes horse, he said.

It is equipped with sliding doors at the base of efficient use of space. "The dining table is right next door and there was not enough room to open the doors to the outside," says Sam. "We wanted to cram as much storage in this small room we could!
These drawers are made from left to right: ash, walnut, beech and yew. "This arrangement gives us access to all sorts of interesting deciduous and it corresponds to our sustainable ethics, too," he adds.
The cabinet knobs are made from mild steel shot. "It has a nice dull color, Sam said.
