Kitchen of the week: Handcrafted Cabinetry adds charm to a new building - self-construction of your own home gives you the freedom to design every aspect of it to meet your needs and the owners of this new home in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, were also particular about how they wanted their new kitchen to look and function like they were on the design of the rest of their home.
The couple called Darren Morgan Designer Kitchen by local firm Morgan to create a unique and inviting space that can accommodate the needs of their young family. Known for both its expertise and its innovative ideas, Morgan created a character kitchen with beautiful design details, customized storage and automated engineering table that emerges at the touch of a button.

The owners of this new car home built wanted a timeless kitchen that is not the date, so they were not drawn to anything ultramodern.
"to create a design that has longevity, I opted for more traditional units, then added the wow factor by blending shapes, textures, heights and materials," says Darren designer Morgan. "by using the fronts of the door 30mm in depth work plans and dovetail in detail, I also gave the kitchen a craftsman-like and durable feel.

as the unity of the island is the first feature film seen from the main living beyond the kitchen, Morgan was keen to make the focal point of the room. 'I used a mixture of different finishes - natural stone, bur oak, marble and painted wood, "he said. "I also used texture layers, as seen in the cross on the foreheads of the door, and added variable worktop heights to make it even more interesting."

this cabinet is designed so that it is slightly elevated above the rest of the island unit. In this way, it becomes a "social pole" nature, against which people wandering in the living room can be addressed with a drink and chat with the cook.

As there are entry points of each side of the workpiece and the island in the middle of a track, Morgan gently curve the sides of the apparatus so that there are no corners where children can collide.
"I also like to introduce soft geometric curves in my designs because they allow a nice fluid motion throughout space and tend to be more pleasing to the eye," he says.
Morgan the sink located in the center of the island, leaving plenty of room on either side for the preparation of food. He also added a boiling water tap to eliminate the need for a kettle.

'The same stone was used outside of the home, "says Morgan. 'I liked the idea of creating a link between the kitchen and the architecture of the property itself.
